SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 431
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Staff Sergeant Matthew Cooper, who is serving his
  country with honor in the United States Army; and
 
         WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Matthew Cooper served two tours of
  duty in Iraq; he was attached to the 25th Infantry Division, 4th
  Airborne Brigade, at Fort Richardson, Alaska; he is currently
  stationed in Garland, where he is a recruiter; and
 
         WHEREAS, Sergeant Cooper is a fine example of the patriotic
  Americans who have made personal sacrifices to serve in far-off
  places, away from their families and friends and the comforts of
  home, to protect and defend this country's ideals and its
  commitment to its goals; and
 
         WHEREAS, He has demonstrated exceptional courage and
  resolve during his military missions; this state and our country
  owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude for his patriotism and his
  service; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Staff Sergeant Matthew Cooper
  for his loyal service to his country in the United States Army and
  extend to him best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be it
  further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Sergeant Cooper as an expression of highest regard from the Texas
  Senate.
