SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 465

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Kids Who Care, Incorporated, on the occasion of the group's visit to the State Capitol and performance in the Capitol Rotunda, which is taking place March 16, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Kids Who Care, Incorporated, is a nonprofit international theater company that produces confident and creative young people through leadership training and musical theater education and performance; and

WHEREAS, The organization has formed a resident company, which created the musical, District XI: Believe in Me, a powerful celebration of teachers who are changing the world; this inspiring production is a timeless look at the school experience and a call to examine our current educational system; and

WHEREAS, Kids Who Care, Incorporated, promotes the idea that the arts are a fundamental part of helping students achieve their full potential and that creativity is an essential element in solving the problems that face our complex world; and

WHEREAS, It is truly fitting that this exemplary organization be recognized for its innovative work in teaching children about the creative process; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Kids Who Care, Incorporated, on its exceptional efforts to help children achieve their potential and extend to the group's students and volunteers best wishes for a memorable visit to the State Capitol; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this outstanding organization as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
