SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 474
         WHEREAS, The Happy Hill Farm Academy Lady Pioneers
  basketball team has completed a phenomenal season by winning the
  2011 Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools 1A
  women's state basketball championship, and the players and coach
  of this superior team are indeed deserving of special recognition
  for this significant accomplishment; and
         WHEREAS, The Lady Pioneers captured their first state
  title by dominating a talented Geneva School Boerne team at
  Mansfield Summit High School, by the score of 58-43, relying on
  brilliant guard play, unrelenting defensive pressure, and timely
  and accurate three-point shooting to win the crown; and
         WHEREAS, With their championship triumph, the Lady
  Pioneers completed the 2011 season with an impressive 28-2
  record; the team's road to the championship included remarkable
  wins over several schools, with a refuse-to-lose attitude that
  carried the Lady Pioneers through their best season ever and the
  first for Coach Evans; and
         WHEREAS, The Lady Pioneers have prospered under the
  direction of head coach Tammy Evans, who has been a source of much
  inspiration to the team during her very first year with the team;
  she has been assisted in her efforts by team manager Madison Lawless;
  and
         WHEREAS, Members of the 2011 State Championship team are:  
  Jessica Martinez, Kelsay Singleton, Haley Harris, Teylor Martinez,
  Taylor Bowers, Olya Haun, Samantha Oshiro, Marissa Wilbourne,
  Shantel Gray, Breanna Conway, and Miranda Willis; these young
  women demonstrated a commitment to teamwork on both offense and
  defense throughout the season, combining their remarkable skills
  and athleticism with an uncompromising work ethic to produce a
  championship team; and
         WHEREAS, The Lady Pioneers, their coach, and Happy Hill
  Farm Academy staff have created tremendous pride among members of
  the community and the citizens of Granbury, and it is a pleasure
  to honor them at this time; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend the Happy Hill Farm Academy Lady
  Pioneers on their outstanding season and congratulate them on
  winning the 2011 Texas Association of Private and Parochial
  Schools 1A women's state basketball championship; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
