SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 483
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Lewis Edward Cook III
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Lewis Edward Cook III, who died March 6,
  2011, at the age of 32; and
         WHEREAS, Lewis Edward Cook III was born January 4, 1979, in
  San Francisco, California; he graduated from San Francisco's
  University High School, where he was a four-time All-American
  swimmer; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Cook graduated with honors in economics from
  Princeton University in 2001; following his graduation, he lived
  in Austin, where he established himself in the real estate
  community through his work with the John Lewis Company; he went
  on to continue his education at Duke University Business School,
  earning a master of business administration degree and
  recognition as a Duke Scholar; and
         WHEREAS, He returned to Austin and the real estate
  industry, working at Simmons Vedder before establishing his own
  real estate investment company; he was active in the Real Estate
  Council of Austin, the Urban Land Institute, and the Young Men's
  Business League; and
         WHEREAS, A young man of courage, strength, and compassion,
  he gave generously to others, and his unquenchable curiosity, his
  ease with people from all walks of life, and his enthusiasm for
  living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten by those who
  knew him; and
         WHEREAS, He was devoted to his family and friends, and he
  will long be remembered with affection and admiration by all who
  were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family and friends of Lewis Edward Cook III; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Lewis Cook.
