SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 499
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Texas State Technical College Student Leadership
  Council of Waco on the occasion of its March 22, 2011, visit to
  the State Capitol; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Texas State Technical College Student
  Leadership Council serves as the primary conduit of information
  for college administration officials when they consider issues
  affecting student life at Texas State Technical College; and
 
         WHEREAS, The council's purpose is to form a representative,
  constructive forum in which to further a beneficial relationship
  among students, faculty, staff, and administration officials; it
  also works to promote students' understanding of their rights and
  responsibilities and to represent their interests to the
  college's administration; and
 
         WHEREAS, This outstanding organization is truly deserving
  of recognition for its exemplary efforts on behalf of the
  students of Texas State Technical College; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend the Texas State Technical College
  Student Leadership Council of Waco on its outstanding work with
  college officials on behalf of students and extend to its members
  a heartfelt welcome to the Texas Capitol; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the council as an expression of high regard from the Texas
  Senate.
