SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 519
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Madison Sanders on earning the Girl Scout Gold Award,
  which is being presented to her by the Amarillo Region of Girl
  Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains Council on April 9, 2011; and
 
         WHEREAS, Few Girl Scouts attain this distinguished award; it
  is the highest level of achievement in the Girl Scout program; and
 
         WHEREAS, Fulfilling the requirements of the Gold Award
  develops leadership skills and organizational abilities as well
  as a commitment to community service; girls working toward the
  award gain valuable experience that will contribute to their
  future success; and
 
         WHEREAS, Madison has designed and conducted a service
  project that will have a positive and lasting effect on her
  community; and
 
         WHEREAS, For her project, she created a reading lounge at a
  local children's home, transforming unused space into a
  welcoming, child-friendly area where children of all ages can
  read and study; and
 
         WHEREAS, By earning the Gold Award, Madison has brought
  honor to herself, her family, her council, and her community, and
  she deserves recognition for her dedication and achievement;
  now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Madison Sanders on receiving this
  prestigious award and extend to her congratulations on her
  exemplary accomplishment; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
