SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 528
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Jaime Rangel, who has been named Lord High Chamberlain
  for the 2011 Buccaneer Days Coronation Pageant, the Court of
  Legendary Couture, which is taking place April 28, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Begun in 1938, this outstanding festival is
  sponsored by the Buccaneer Commission, a nonprofit organization
  whose mission is to provide the citizens of South Texas with
  exceptional entertainment and to expand educational
  opportunities for area students by awarding scholarships; and
         WHEREAS, Jaime Rangel is a 1994 graduate of Ray High
  School; he earned a bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University
  and a law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law; he
  serves as an attorney with the Rangel Law Firm in Corpus Christi;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Rangel is active in numerous civic and
  professional organizations; he serves on the boards of Foster
  Angels of South Texas, the Corpus Christi Young Lawyers
  Association, and the Federal Bar Association for the Southern
  District of Texas; he is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and
  has served as president of Beachcombers; and
         WHEREAS, Jaime Rangel has served the people of Corpus
  Christi with distinction, and he is truly deserving of this
  outstanding honor; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Jaime Rangel on his many
  contributions to his community and extend congratulations to him
  on being named Lord High Chamberlain of the 2011 Buccaneer Days
  Coronation Pageant, the Court of Legendary Couture; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
