SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 539
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  H. Kyle Seale
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of San Antonio and Helotes in mourning the loss of H.
  Kyle Seale, who died February 26, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Kyle Seale was born on January 1, 1924, in
  Nacogdoches, Texas; he moved with his parents to San Antonio in
  1939 and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, where he
  was a member of the National Honor Society, the debate club, and
  the Reserve Officers' Training Corps; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Seale was a sophomore at The University of
  Texas when Pearl Harbor was attacked; he volunteered to serve in
  the United States Army during World War II, and he graduated with
  an officer's commission; at the age of 20, he was on an unescorted
  troop ship making its way across the Pacific while dodging enemy
  submarines; he led a rifle platoon in the 41st Infantry Division
  through frontline combat in the Philippines, and he earned
  numerous medals, decorations, and citations, including the
  Infantry Combat Badge and a Bronze Star, for his leadership and
  his bravery; and
         WHEREAS, He resumed his studies in 1946 and graduated with
  a degree from The University of Texas School of Law; he then
  returned to San Antonio and practiced real estate and oil and gas
  law, investing in real estate and subsequently limiting his law
  practice to his family holdings; and
         WHEREAS, An active leader in his community, Mr. Seale
  supported many local organizations and served on numerous boards
  of directors, including the Salvation Army, the Cancer Therapy
  and Research Center, and The University of Texas at San Antonio
  Development Board; and
         WHEREAS, A generous, wise, and highly respected gentleman,
  Kyle Seale enriched the lives of all who knew him with his love
  and compassion and his humor and kindness; he was a devoted
  husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories
  that will be treasured forever by his family and many friends;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of H. Kyle Seale: his wife, Billie G. Seale; his children,
  Daniel Seale, Kathleen Seale Withers, Carolyn Seale, Stephen
  Seale, Victoria Seale, and Marian Seale Freeland; his
  stepdaughters, Kristin Daniel and Kendra Clark; and his eight
  grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, and two
  great-grandchildren; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of H. Kyle Seale.
