SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 547

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Sherry True Smith, who is retiring from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality on March 31, 2011, after 23 years of outstanding service to the state; and

WHEREAS, Sherry True Smith began her career in state service in 1988; she came to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality on January 4, 1999, and has served with dedication and enthusiasm as a program specialist; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her career, she has been noted for her superior skills and expertise; talented and resourceful, she has handled her many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and commitment; and

WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, she is respected and admired by her colleagues, and her presence at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Sherry True Smith on her exemplary service to the people of Texas as an employee of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and extend to her best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
