SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 556
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
join the Texas Computer Education Association in celebrating |
|
March 21, 2011, as the first annual Educational Technology Day at |
|
the Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1980, the Texas Computer Education |
|
Association has throughout its history worked to help teachers, |
|
administrators, librarians, and other educators stay on the |
|
cutting edge of technological innovation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By furthering the integration of technology into |
|
curricula and instruction, the association has played an |
|
important role in encouraging the active use of computers and |
|
technology at all educational levels in the state; it has allowed |
|
educators the opportunity to stay abreast of the latest trends |
|
through conferences, workshops, and partnerships with business |
|
and higher education; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, It is truly fitting that this outstanding |
|
organization be recognized for its work in helping to prepare |
|
Texas students for life in today's complex, technology-driven |
|
society; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Computer Education |
|
Association on its exemplary efforts to ensure that the students |
|
of Texas have access to the best in technological innovation and |
|
extend to its members best wishes for a memorable Educational |
|
Technology Day at the Capitol; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
|
honor of this special occasion. |
