SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 563
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Captain James R. Borup upon his retirement as a
  Galveston-Texas City Pilot after more than 30 years of
  outstanding service; and
 
         WHEREAS, Captain Borup will be honored for his many years
  of distinguished service at a reception on March 25, 2011; and
 
         WHEREAS, From February of 1980 through December of 2010,
  Captain Borup served as a branch pilot for the Galveston-Texas
  City Pilots, displaying expertise in guiding ships safely in and
  out of the ports of Galveston and Texas City; and
 
         WHEREAS, Captain Borup is a third-generation harbor pilot
  commissioned by the Governor of the State of Texas; his family's
  service dates back to 1930; in addition, he comes from a long line
  of seafarers on both sides of his family; and
 
         WHEREAS, An exemplary citizen, Captain Borup served
  skillfully and effectively as a Galveston-Texas City Pilot; he is
  also a devoted family man with a penchant for softball and
  physical fitness; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Captain James R. Borup for his many
  years of outstanding service to the Galveston-Texas City Pilots
  and extend best wishes to him for the retirement years ahead;
  and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
