SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 598
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Sylvia Rodriguez, who has been selected for induction
  into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her outstanding
  work as a volunteer and community organizer; and
 
         WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those
  women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio
  community and the Bexar County region through their
  accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and
 
         WHEREAS, Sylvia serves as a consultant to the San Fernando
  Health Fair and has more than 40 years of experience helping to
  raise funds for women's organizations; she has worked tirelessly
  on campaigns for women who have run for elected office; and
 
         WHEREAS, She helped found the Hispanic Women's Network of
  Texas, and she played a major role in helping to organize the
  first Hispanas Unidas Conference, which more than 1,000 women
  attended; and
 
         WHEREAS, Sylvia Rodriguez is highly respected for her
  dedication to her work as a volunteer and for her outstanding
  accomplishments as a community organizer, and her exceptional
  success serves as an inspiration to women across our state; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Sylvia Rodriguez for her many
  achievements and extend congratulations to her on her induction
  into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
