SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 599

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Judge Mary Roman, who has been selected for induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her outstanding work in the legal field; and

WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and

WHEREAS, A judge in Bexar County, Mary Roman is known for her fair-mindedness and high standards, and she is a strong advocate for women's needs and issues; and

WHEREAS, Board certified in criminal law, she works with Child Advocates of San Antonio, the Battered Women's Shelter, Visitation House, PEACE, and the Texas Women's Forum; and

WHEREAS, Judge Roman is highly respected for her dedication to her work and for her many accomplishments in the legal field and in the area of women's rights; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend Judge Mary Roman for her exceptional work and achievements and extend congratulations to her on her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
