SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 619
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Hill Country BBQ and Chili Cook-off as a Texas
  State Barbecue Championship competition; and
 
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by the League of United Latin American
  Citizens Council 4876, this outstanding event raises funds that
  go to support education in the San Marcos area through donations
  to schools and the awarding of scholarships to deserving
  students; and
 
         WHEREAS, This prestigious competition is being held in
  conjunction with the Hays County Fair, which features bull-riding,
  live music, and other attractions; and
 
         WHEREAS, Texans are renowned for their love of barbecue,
  and this event is sure to provide superior cuisine to satisfy the
  most discriminating palates; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend the League of United Latin American
  Citizens Council 4876 on its commitment to education and extend
  to its members and supporters best wishes for a successful and
  memorable Hill Country BBQ and Chili Cook-off; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  this outstanding organization as an expression of esteem from the
  Texas Senate.
