SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 629

In Memory

of

Vicki Lynne Johnson

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and commemorates the life of Vicki Lynne Johnson, who died January 30, 2010, at the age of 59; and

WHEREAS, Vicki Johnson was born March 24, 1950, in Blanchard, Oklahoma, to Frank and June Hodges; a 1968 graduate of Sonora High School, she attended Texarkana College before embarking on a nursing career; and

WHEREAS, Compassionate and caring, she served as a nurse for nearly three decades; she cofounded Life Line Home Nursing in 1992, which served patients from Livingston to Texarkana; and

WHEREAS, She was a woman of many interests and passions, from gardening to gourmet cooking to music; her radiant smile brightened every room she entered, and she possessed the gift of the ability to make everyone feel special; and

WHEREAS, A woman of generosity and kindness, she gave unselfishly to others, and her unwavering faith, her strength, and her passion for sharing with others will not be forgotten; and

WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will long be remembered for her many accomplishments and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family and friends of Vicki Lynne Johnson; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Vicki Lynne Johnson. Eltife
