SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 733
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  welcome the delegation from Balch Springs and recognize April 19,
  2011, as Balch Springs Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Balch Springs is a home-rule city incorporated in
  1953; it is named for early settler John M. Balch, who had
  abundant springs on his property; and
         WHEREAS, Located in Dallas County, Balch Springs has grown
  to encompass a population of 20,000 citizens who enjoy a thriving
  community with an attractive quality of life and a vibrant
  business climate; and
         WHEREAS, Balch Springs is home to a variety of cultural and
  recreational facilities and opportunities for residents and
  visitors alike, including a new library, the Double D Dude Ranch,
  and the Chiesl Baseball Complex; and
         WHEREAS, Balch Springs Day at the State Capitol offers its
  citizens and community leaders the opportunity to learn more
  about state government and to promote the assets and quality of
  life that make Balch Springs an outstanding place to live, work,
  and raise a family; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby recognize the citizens of Balch Springs for
  their many contributions to our state and extend to them best
  wishes for a memorable Balch Springs Day at the State Capitol;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the citizens of Balch Springs as an expression of esteem from the
  Texas Senate.
