SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 800
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Fort Worth Star-Telegram reporter Patrick M. Walker,
  who has been selected to receive the Barbara Jordan Media Award
  for print news; and
 
         WHEREAS, A native of Waco, Patrick Walker earned a
  bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of North
  Texas in Denton; his first job in the newspaper business was at
  the Waco Tribune-Herald; he has worked for newspapers in Denton,
  Plano, and Waxahachie; and
 
         WHEREAS, He began working for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram
  on the news copy desk in 2005; he became a reporter again for the
  Arlington Citizen-Journal, a weekly newspaper published by the
  Star-Telegram; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mr. Walker is receiving this prestigious award at
  the 28th annual Barbara Jordan Media Awards in Austin on April
  16, 2011; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby congratulate reporter Patrick M. Walker on
  receiving the Barbara Jordan Media Award for print news and
  extend to him best wishes for success in all his future
  endeavors; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Patrick M. Walker as an expression of high regard from the Texas
  Senate.
