SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 801
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Carlos Madero for more than four decades of exceptional
  service as a peace officer; and
         WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of San Antonio, Officer
  Madero began his career in law enforcement as a patrol officer
  for the San Antonio Police Department in 1969; he worked for the
  department until 2004, and the next year he joined the San
  Antonio International Airport Police Department, where he has
  served as a trainer and worked with other agencies to ensure
  preparedness; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Officer Madero has been
  noted for his dedication and his commitment to making the city a
  safer place in which to live, work, and raise a family; he was
  named Officer of the Year in 1975 for his apprehension of five
  subjects who had been involved in 12 armed robberies and three
  shooting incidents; and
         WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, Officer Madero played
  an important role in the interagency operation that brought to
  justice an organized-crime group of more than 35 members and
  recovered more than $2 million in stolen property; and
         WHEREAS, Officer Madero has also been active in community
  affairs; he helped create the manual for all of the Explorer
  Posts in the police department's substations, and he has been
  recognized for his community service by the Northwest Rotary
  Club; he has also served as a volunteer for the American Red
  Cross; and
         WHEREAS, An exceptional law enforcement officer, he is
  respected and admired by his colleagues, and his legacy of
  service and commitment has set an example for many generations of
  police officers in San Antonio; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Carlos Madero on his many years of
  outstanding service to the people of San Antonio as a peace
  officer and extend to him best wishes for success in all his
  future endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
