SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 803
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Warren Alston
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Bulverde in mourning the loss of Warren Alston, who
  died March 29, 2011, at the age of 83; and
         WHEREAS, Warren Alston was born in Lamar, Arkansas, on June 4,
  1927, to Marion Lila Douglass and Julius Thomas Alston; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Alston had a successful career with Mobil Oil
  Company for 36 years; after his retirement, he joined Abelow
  Insurance Agency, where he worked for 10 years; and
         WHEREAS, A leading Bulverde citizen, he was instrumental
  in the incorporation of the city; he was a founding member of the
  Bulverde Chamber of Commerce and the Bulverde Spring Branch Lions
  Club; he was the first interim mayor of Bulverde and was a trustee
  of the Bulverde Spring Branch Library; he served on the board of
  the Bulverde Fire Department and was instrumental in the
  construction of the Warren Alston Bridge on Farm to Market Road
  1863; and
         WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman, he was respected in the
  community for his many accomplishments and civic leadership; and
         WHEREAS, He was a devout Christian and a member of the
  Bulverde United Methodist Church, and he was known for his
  integrity and generous spirit; and
         WHEREAS, Warren Alston was a devoted husband, father, and
  grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
  forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Warren Alston: his wife, Ann Alston; his daughter and
  son-in-law, Susan and Michael Abelow; his son and
  daughter-in-law, Russell and Martha Alston; his brother and
  sister-in-law, Robert and Daisey Alston; his sisters and
  brother-in-law, Sue and Vane Farrer and Shirley Hammack; and his
  two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Warren Alston.
