SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 823
         WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, Joseph and Rosa
  Celis placed great faith and trust in one another, and they have
  been amply rewarded, as they are celebrating their 50th wedding
  anniversary; and
         WHEREAS, Joseph Ignacio Celis, Jr., and Rosa Sanchez Celis
  were married in San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio on April
  30, 1961; and
         WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the
  years of their marriage, yet they have continued to cherish
  traditional family values; they worked hard to maintain their
  family business and created a loving and supportive atmosphere
  for their children, who have all grown up and graduated from
  college; and
         WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their
  love and devotion to one another as together they have
  experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Celis have been blessed with a
  wonderful family:  their children, Patricia Ann Celis, Belinda
  Alexandra Celis McMunn, Regina Lynne Celis, Zandra Liane Celis
  Hardin, and Joseph Ignacio Celis III, and their grandchildren,
  Dominic Antonio Macias, Alexandra Tate Hardin, Grant Joseph
  Hardin, James Austin Hardin, and Cash Elliott Celis, have been a
  source of much pride and joy; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Celis are sharing their happiness
  with their family and friends at a dinner hosted by their
  children on April 29, 2011; their long and happy union is truly an
  inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to Joseph and
  Rosa Celis on the joyous occasion of their 50th wedding
  anniversary; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  this distinguished couple as an expression of esteem from the
  Texas Senate.
