SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 848

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Northwest Preparatory Academy Charter School of Houston on the grand occasion of its 10th Annual Eighth Grade Promotion Ceremony on May 24, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 2001, Northwest Preparatory Academy Charter School is an open enrollment state-approved public school; the school educates more than 300 students and boasts a 97 percent attendance rate; and

WHEREAS, An exemplary institution, the school aims to provide a balanced educational program that allows students to maximize their full academic potential and social development; and

WHEREAS, Offering a comprehensive curriculum with ongoing enrichment and support, the school fosters a student-centered learning environment that allows for the fulfillment of individual student needs; and

WHEREAS, Under the auspices of a dedicated faculty and administration, Northwest Preparatory Academy Charter School earned an academic accountability rating of "Exemplary" for the 2009-2010 school year from the Texas Education Agency; and

WHEREAS, With its individualized approach to teaching and commitment to a rich educational program, the Northwest Preparatory Academy Charter School exemplifies all that is excellent in public education; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to the Northwest Preparatory Academy Charter School on providing superior educational opportunities to the Houston community and on the occasion of its 10th Annual Eighth Grade Promotion Ceremony; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the school as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
