SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 855
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Ted Lee Bullard
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of former Corpus Christi police officer Ted
  Lee Bullard, who died April 10, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Ted Lee Bullard was born in Lenna, Oklahoma, in
  the Creek Indian Nation; he graduated from Corpus Christi High
  School in 1948 and studied at Sam Houston College; he received a
  bachelor of science degree from Texas A&I University and did
  postgraduate work at Texas A&M University; and
         WHEREAS, After serving three and one-half years with the
  Corpus Christi Fire Department, he joined the Corpus Christi Police
  Department in 1953; over the next 40 years, he rose through the
  ranks to become vice commander of Special Services and Criminal
  Investigations and Police Chief of Detectives; he then served as
  head of security for the greyhound racetrack for eight years; and
         WHEREAS, After retiring, he moved to Nordheim, Texas, where he
  attended Saint Paul's Lutheran Church; a member of the Masonic Lodge
  in Yorktown, he was a Scottish Rite Mason and an Al Amin Shriner; and
         WHEREAS, A distinguished and highly respected gentleman,
  Mr. Bullard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and
  he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his
  family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Ted Lee Bullard: his wife of 61 years, Ramona Perry
  Bullard; his daughters, Sheryl Murray and Janet Doreck; his sons,
  Ted Bullard II, Chester Bullard, and Shane Alan Bryant; and his
  15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Ted Lee Bullard.
