SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 857
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Honorable Patricia Bridges Andrews, retired
  associate judge of Tarrant County, who is being honored with the
  Yellow Rose of Texas by the office of the governor; and
         WHEREAS, The Yellow Rose is bestowed on Texas women for
  their accomplishments and their records of lengthy community
  service; due to her many years of outstanding service to the bar
  and bench, Judge Pat Andrews was nominated for this recognition
  by the Arlington Bar Association; and
         WHEREAS, During her career as an attorney in Arlington,
  Judge Andrews was noted for her dauntless spirit, her
  conscientiousness, and her attention to detail; and
         WHEREAS, The first woman admitted to the Arlington Bar
  Association in 1974, she was considered a trailblazer in the
  Tarrant County legal community; in September of 1980, she left
  the private practice of law and began a career as a court master
  in the Public Defenders Office in Tarrant County, where she
  served until 1989; and
         WHEREAS, In October of 1989, she transferred to the 324th
  District Court, where she served as court master and associate
  judge; she quickly earned a reputation as a fair but stern judge,
  and her decisions were respected by all; and
         WHEREAS, Following her retirement from the bench in 2002,
  she has continued to be active in the Arlington Bar Association
  and served as its director from 2007 to 2010; she has also used
  her knowledge and experience to help those in need through her
  service as a volunteer attorney with the Women's Center of
  Tarrant County; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend the Honorable Patricia B. Andrews on
  her innumerable contributions to the legal profession, the
  Arlington Bar Association, and the community and state and extend
  congratulations to her on being named a Yellow Rose of Texas;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
