SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 867

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize April 30, 2011, as XX Concurso Día del Niño Day; and

WHEREAS, The Concurso Día del Niño is a competitive event that promotes computer education and provides students with the opportunity to strengthen their writing skills; and

WHEREAS, Students participate in this annual event by submitting essays on a computer-related topic, and the winner in each category receives a computer system; books and software and computer courses are also offered as prizes; and

WHEREAS, The goal of the event is to highlight the importance of technological education for young people and to help prepare them to become computer-knowledgeable by giving them the information and tools they need for the future; the event brings together students, parents, and members of the community in the spirit of progress; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to all participating in XX Concurso Día del Niño Day for a highly successful and educational event; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in honor of this special day.
