SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 931
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the participants in the Texas Honor Ride, who have made
  special efforts to raise funds for the Warrior and Family Support
  Center at Brooke Army Medical Center; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas Honor Ride began five years ago when
  motorcyclists from the Lone Star Cowboy Church in Montgomery,
  Texas, got together to find a way to help the country's wounded
  military men and women who were returning from serving their
  country; and
         WHEREAS, The group raised $60,000 on its first Texas Honor
  Ride, and over the last five years, it has raised more than
  $500,000 to aid the Warrior and Family Support Center at the
  Brooke Army Medical Center; and
         WHEREAS, More than 33,000 members of the United States
  military have been wounded in this country's war against
  terrorism; they and their families have made great sacrifices in
  behalf of this nation and richly deserve the gratitude and
  support of their fellow citizens; and
         WHEREAS, The funds raised by the Texas Honor Ride are
  dedicated to the support of these heroes and their families and
  assist them with the help they need to overcome the many
  challenges they face; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend the participants in the Texas Honor
  Ride for their efforts to honor and assist this country's wounded
  warriors and their families and extend to them best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the Texas Honor Ride as an expression of esteem from the Texas
  Senate.
