SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 950
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Inez Rogers
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Inez Rogers, who died February 21, 2011,
  at the age of 91; and
         WHEREAS, Mother Inez "Nanny Pooh" Rogers was born on July
  26, 1919, in Sturgis, Mississippi, to Lula and Charlie Lathan; in
  1936 she was married to the late Dwight L. Rogers, Sr.; and
         WHEREAS, She professed her faith at an early age and united
  with the Boyd Chapel Methodist Church in Sturgis; she remained a
  devout Christian throughout her life; in her later years, she
  moved to Michigan and worshipped with her children at the Word of
  Life Christian Church and Greater Galilee Baptist Church; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Rogers retired from the Spartus Corporation
  in Louisville, Mississippi; however, she considered her most
  important positions in life to be those of wife and mother; her
  greatest joy was her children, whom she loved dearly, and she
  reminded them of that love daily; and
         WHEREAS, She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, and
  traveling; she enriched the lives of all who knew her with her
  love, her kindness, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the
  fullest; she was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she leaves
  behind memories that will be treasured forever by her 11
  children, her 17 grandchildren, her sister, and her two brothers;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Inez Rogers and extend
  sincere condolences to her bereaved family; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Inez Rogers.
