SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 959
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
recognize Christina Yampanis, a well-known Dallas community |
|
leader who is noted for her work on crime awareness and |
|
prevention; and |
|
WHEREAS, Christina Yampanis is dedicated to promoting |
|
community involvement in crime awareness, prevention, and |
|
education; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through her volunteer work with the North Texas |
|
Crime Commission she encourages citizens to support federal, |
|
state, and local law enforcement; her exemplary service puts the |
|
spotlight on the motto "Fighting Crime is Everyone's Business"; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition, her volunteerism extends to a number |
|
of other worthy causes; she is a participant in the Dallas |
|
Mayor's Council on Morals and Values Conference and the Mayor's |
|
Back to School Fair for underprivileged children; and |
|
WHEREAS, She volunteers monthly at the Austin Street |
|
Homeless Shelter and is co-chair for the Salvation Army Angel |
|
Tree program, which provides Christmas presents to needy |
|
children and the elderly; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
Legislature, hereby commend Christina Yampanis on her dedication |
|
to her community and her many accomplishments in the field of |
|
crime awareness and prevention; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
