SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 959
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Christina Yampanis, a well-known Dallas community
  leader who is noted for her work on crime awareness and
  prevention; and
         WHEREAS, Christina Yampanis is dedicated to promoting
  community involvement in crime awareness, prevention, and
  education; and
         WHEREAS, Through her volunteer work with the North Texas
  Crime Commission she encourages citizens to support federal,
  state, and local law enforcement; her exemplary service puts the
  spotlight on the motto "Fighting Crime is Everyone's Business";
  and
         WHEREAS, In addition, her volunteerism extends to a number
  of other worthy causes; she is a participant in the Dallas
  Mayor's Council on Morals and Values Conference and the Mayor's
  Back to School Fair for underprivileged children; and
         WHEREAS, She volunteers monthly at the Austin Street
  Homeless Shelter and is co-chair for the Salvation Army Angel
  Tree program, which provides Christmas presents to needy
  children and the elderly; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Christina Yampanis on her dedication
  to her community and her many accomplishments in the field of
  crime awareness and prevention; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
