SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 989
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
|
citizens of Duncanville in congratulating Rasheed Jamal Furlow |
|
|
of Boy Scout Troop 986, who recently achieved the rank of Eagle |
|
|
Scout; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young man has brought honor to |
|
|
himself, his family, his troop, his community, and his state in |
|
|
earning the coveted Eagle Badge; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Rasheed completed a service project that required |
|
|
him to exercise his leadership abilities and at the same time |
|
|
benefit his community; Rasheed's project involved raising money |
|
|
for the purchase of school uniforms; he was able to purchase more |
|
|
than 200 uniforms for students at two elementary schools; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Few are privileged to be named among the ranks of |
|
|
the elite corps of Eagle Scouts; only five out of every 100 Boy |
|
|
Scouts earn this distinguished honor; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and |
|
|
promise, Rasheed advanced from Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, |
|
|
and Life classes to Eagle Scout; he is truly an exemplary citizen |
|
|
of the State of Texas; now, therefore, be it |
| |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby congratulate Rasheed Jamal Furlow on |
|
|
attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and commend him on this great |
|
|
achievement; and, be it further |
| |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
Eagle Scout Furlow as an expression of esteem from the Texas |
|
|
Senate. |
