SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 993
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Dr. H. John Fuller for his 18 years of loyal service as
  superintendent of Wylie Independent School District and his 41
  years in the field of education; and
         WHEREAS, A highly respected educator, Dr. Fuller has had an
  outstanding career, which has included serving as a public school
  principal, coach, and mathematics teacher; prior to joining
  Wylie Independent School District, he served as superintendent
  of San Marcos, Muleshoe, and Wells public schools; and
         WHEREAS, Under Dr. Fuller's leadership, the majority of
  Wylie Independent School District campuses have been rated as
  either Recognized or Exemplary; in addition, he has been
  responsible for the opening of 10 new campuses, a service support
  center, and an educational service center; and
         WHEREAS, During his tenure, student enrollment has more
  than tripled, and he has brought technology to the district and
  into the classroom, where it has become an effective teaching
  tool; and
         WHEREAS, A talented and resourceful superintendent, Dr. Fuller
  serves as president of the Texas Association of School
  Administrators Executive Committee; he was the 2004 Region 10
  Superintendent of the Year, and he served as a member of the board
  of the Texas Center for Educational Research; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Fuller has contributed greatly to the quality
  of education in the community, and he has played a major role in
  making the Wylie Independent School District the exceptional
  school system it is today; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby express appreciation to Dr. H. John Fuller
  for his notable achievements and his many contributions to the
  Wylie Independent School District and to the field of education;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
