SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1003
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Jerome Levy
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Houston in mourning the loss of Jerome Levy, who died
  March 10, 2011, at the age of 69; and
         WHEREAS, Jerome Levy was born February 19, 1942, in
  Houston; he attended Bellaire High School before going on to
  Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets
  and earned a bachelor of business administration degree; and
         WHEREAS, Following his graduation, he served with
  distinction in the United States Air Force Reserve before
  embarking on a career as a stockbroker; he worked for many years
  at UBS, serving his clients with integrity and loyalty; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Levy was an avid sports fan from a young age; he
  was sports editor at Bellaire High School and for 40 years served on
  the statistics team and as scorekeeper for the Houston Rockets; he
  played handball for many years before switching to golf, and he
  played most weekends with a cherished group of friends; and
         WHEREAS, He was also active with numerous community
  organizations, including the Channel 8 Auction and Cherish Our
  Children International; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Levy always maintained that one of his best life
  decisions was to marry his wife, Arlene, with whom he shared more
  than four decades of mutual love and devotion; he was a doting father
  who treasured the time he spent with his daughters, preparing their
  lunches, taking them to the office on weekends, attending every dance
  recital, and supporting them with warmth and compassion; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and generosity, he
  gave unselfishly to others, and although he will be deeply missed
  by his family and countless friends, he will continue to live in
  their hearts and minds; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Jerome Levy: his wife of 41 years, Arlene; his
  daughters, Genene and Jennifer; his brother, Kenny; and his
  grandchildren, Max and Lily; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Jerome Levy.
