SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1048

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize John Tristan, who is retiring on May 31, 2011, after 38 years of loyal service to the state; and

WHEREAS, John Tristan began his career with the state in the Department of Public Welfare; over the years of his employment, the agency changed names and was reorganized several times; he was employed by the Texas Department of Human Services and eventually by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his career, he has handled his many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication, and he has been noted for his dedication and resourcefulness; and

WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, Mr. Tristan has earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues, and his presence in the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd Legislature, hereby commend John Tristan for his exceptional service and his many contributions to our state and extend to him best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
