SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1060
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Dr. Patrick J. Hanford on the occasion of his
  installation as president of the Texas Osteopathic Medical
  Association on June 18, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Now based in Austin, the Texas Osteopathic
  Medical Association was formally organized in Sherman on
  November 29, 1900, to support the science of osteopathic
  medicine; the association's mission is to promote health care
  excellence for the people of Texas, advance the philosophy and
  principles of osteopathic medicine, and serve the unique needs of
  the members of the osteopathic profession; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Hanford earned a doctor of osteopathy degree
  from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University
  of North Texas Health Science Center in 1983, and he holds a
  bachelor's degree from Angelo State University; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Hanford is a board-certified practitioner
  based in Lubbock who also serves as a clinical instructor at the
  Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center; he is an active
  participant in numerous professional organizations, including
  the Texas Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family
  Physicians, where he has served as president; he is also involved
  with several philanthropic organizations; and
         WHEREAS, His dedication and experience will surely be an
  asset to the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association as he assumes
  his new position; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Patrick J. Hanford on his many
  achievements and extend to him congratulations on his
  installation as president of the Texas Osteopathic Medical
  Association; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
