SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1060
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Dr. Patrick J. Hanford on the occasion of his |
|
|
installation as president of the Texas Osteopathic Medical |
|
|
Association on June 18, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Now based in Austin, the Texas Osteopathic |
|
|
Medical Association was formally organized in Sherman on |
|
|
November 29, 1900, to support the science of osteopathic |
|
|
medicine; the association's mission is to promote health care |
|
|
excellence for the people of Texas, advance the philosophy and |
|
|
principles of osteopathic medicine, and serve the unique needs of |
|
|
the members of the osteopathic profession; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Hanford earned a doctor of osteopathy degree |
|
|
from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University |
|
|
of North Texas Health Science Center in 1983, and he holds a |
|
|
bachelor's degree from Angelo State University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Hanford is a board-certified practitioner |
|
|
based in Lubbock who also serves as a clinical instructor at the |
|
|
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center; he is an active |
|
|
participant in numerous professional organizations, including |
|
|
the Texas Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family |
|
|
Physicians, where he has served as president; he is also involved |
|
|
with several philanthropic organizations; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, His dedication and experience will surely be an |
|
|
asset to the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association as he assumes |
|
|
his new position; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Patrick J. Hanford on his many |
|
|
achievements and extend to him congratulations on his |
|
|
installation as president of the Texas Osteopathic Medical |
|
|
Association; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
