SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1140
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Alamo Honor Flight for its exceptional support of our
  nation's veterans; and
WHEREAS, Alamo Honor Flight is a nonprofit organization
founded solely in order to honor America's veterans for their
  service and sacrifice; and
WHEREAS, This generous organization transports veterans
from San Antonio to Washington, D.C., to visit and reflect at the
memorials dedicated to the armed conflicts in which the nation
has taken part; the flights and tours are offered free of charge
as a way to pay tribute to those who have protected American
  ideals and principles; and
WHEREAS, World War II posed an existential threat to the
nation, and as its veterans grow older, it is important that the
country express its thanks to these brave men and women; part of
the national Honor Flight Network, Alamo Honor Flight has already
taken three groups of veterans to Washington, D.C., and continues
  to schedule more tours; and
WHEREAS, It is truly fitting that this distinguished group
be recognized for its outstanding work in supporting American
  veterans; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
Legislature, hereby commend Alamo Honor Flight on its dedication
to honoring the nation's veterans and extend to its members and
sponsors best wishes for continuing success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
this exemplary organization as an expression of esteem from the
  Texas Senate.
