SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1146
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Reverend Chris Osborne on the occasion of the 25th
  anniversary of his ministry at Central Baptist Church of
  Bryan-College Station, which is being celebrated in August of
  2011; and
         WHEREAS, Reverend Osborne came to Central Baptist Church
  as senior pastor on August 12, 1986; under his exceptional
  leadership, the church has become the largest in the Brazos
  Valley, with some 3,500 members, and it has relocated and
  expanded onto a new 114-acre campus; and
         WHEREAS, Inspirational and dedicated to helping others,
  this beloved pastor has been an active leader in the
  Bryan-College Station area, serving on the board of the College
  Station Medical Center and as chaplain for the Bryan Police
  Department; he has also served as president of the Southern
  Baptists of Texas Convention and on the executive board of the
  Southern Baptist Convention; and
         WHEREAS, A man of spiritual depth and devotion, Reverend
  Osborne has performed countless ceremonies and has prayed with
  and counseled his congregation during times of hardship and
  bereavement and rejoiced with them in times of prosperity and
  celebration; and
         WHEREAS, An accomplished scholar and theologian, he has
  had a profound influence on his community and in the lives of
  countless people; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Reverend Chris Osborne on 25 years of
  exceptional service as pastor of Central Baptist Church and
  extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his
  endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
