SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1191
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Angelina G. Garcia
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of longtime educator Angelina G. Garcia,
  who died March 24, 2011, at the age of 69; and
         WHEREAS, Angelina was born in Laredo to Juan and Angelina
  Gomez on November 2, 1941; she graduated from Saint Augustine
  Catholic School in 1960 as valedictorian of her class; she
  married Miguel R. Garcia on August 6, 1961; and
         WHEREAS, She earned a bachelor of arts degree in education
  and a master's degree in English from The University of Texas at
  Austin; during her 44-year career as an educator, she taught
  first grade through seventh grade and worked tirelessly to help
  her students achieve their full potential; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Garcia was an exceptionally dedicated
  teacher who valued education second only to her family; her
  passion for teaching and her strong belief in its benefits left a
  lasting impression on thousands of students and inspired all who
  knew her; and
         WHEREAS, Angelina Garcia was a devoted wife, mother, and
  grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be
  treasured forever by her family, her many friends, and the
  countless young people whose lives she touched; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Angelina G. Garcia: her husband, Miguel R. Garcia; her
  children, Sara Gallardo, Ana Garcia-McNeill, and John Michael
  Garcia; her mother, Angelina G. Gomez; her sister, Rosa Elia
  Luna; her brother, Juan Manual Gomez; and her grandchildren,
  Laura and Mark Gallardo, John and Jake McNeill, and Tiffany
  Garcia; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Angelina G. Garcia.
