SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1195
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Rachelle Grace, who has been named the recipient of an
  H-E-B Excellence in Education Award in the Leadership category
  for secondary schools; and
         WHEREAS, Head of the English and advanced placement
  programs at McAllen Memorial High School, Rachelle Grace has
  worked diligently throughout her career to arm her students with
  the skills necessary to compete and thrive in today's complex and
  interconnected world; to that end, she has endeavored to
  integrate technology into the classroom as much as possible; and
         WHEREAS, She is also the local director for Teach for
  America, a program that places recent college graduates into
  schools in economically disadvantaged areas; and
         WHEREAS, A positive influence in the lives of her students,
  she has given generously of her time and talent to help them with
  their work, and she has instilled in them a sense of pride and a
  lifelong love of learning; and
         WHEREAS, She is truly deserving of recognition for her many
  outstanding achievements and her dedication to her students and
  her profession; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Rachelle Grace on her commitment to
  her students and extend to her congratulations on receiving the
  H-E-B Excellence in Education Award in the Leadership category
  for secondary schools; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
