SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1224
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Valeria Mejia on the auspicious occasion of her
  graduation from Miami High School; and
 
         WHEREAS, Valeria is a talented and hardworking student
  who strives for excellence in all her endeavors; an exemplary
  young woman, she is held in high regard by peers and teachers
  alike; over the course of her career at Miami High School, she
  became a member of the National Honor Society and served as a
  varsity cheerleader; and
 
         WHEREAS, Valeria also served as president of the Miami
  Future Farmers of America and was a member of the 4-H horse
  judging team; having faced the many challenges of a high
  school education with success and distinction, she now
  embarks on an adventure into a world for which she is well
  prepared and which holds countless exciting opportunities for
  her; and
 
         WHEREAS, Valeria and her classmates will attend
  commencement exercises on May 27, 2011; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby commend Valeria Mejia on her many
  accomplishments and extend to her best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
