SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1268
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Kenneth Gary Vann
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Sergeant Kenneth Gary Vann of the Bexar
  County Sheriff's Office, who died in the line of duty on May 28,
  2011, at the age of 48; and
         WHEREAS, Born November 2, 1962, Sergeant Kenneth Gary Vann
  was an exemplary law enforcement officer who was widely admired
  by fellow officers and civilians alike; and
         WHEREAS, Sergeant Vann was a veteran of nearly 25 years in
  the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, where he was known for his
  steadfast reliability and his dedication to the protection of his
  fellow citizens; he was recognized among his peers for his
  exemplary work ethic and his high standards, and he and his
  colleagues enjoyed a strong camaraderie based on years of
  mutually shared respect, trust, loyalty, and good humor; and
         WHEREAS, Sergeant Vann was devoted to his family and
  enjoyed spending time with them; he faithfully attended his
  children's activities, and he loved traveling across the country
  with his wife, Yvonne, in their motor home; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and generosity, he
  gave unselfishly to the citizens of Bexar County, and his
  determination, integrity, and enthusiasm for living each day to
  the fullest will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and
         WHEREAS, A doting husband and father, he was an inspiration
  to others, and although he will be deeply missed by his family and
  countless friends, he will continue to live in their hearts and
  minds for years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Kenneth Gary Vann: his wife, Yvonne Villarreal Vann;
  and his children, Rachael Michele Vann, Justin Michael Vann, and
  Kenneth Gary Vann, Jr.; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,
  and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
  Kenneth Gary Vann.
