FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 30, 2011

TO:
Honorable Joseph Pickett, Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB143 by Laubenberg (Relating to the issuance of specialty license plates to certain family members of a person who dies while serving in the United States armed forces.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 504.408 of the Transportation Code to allow issuance of Gold Star Father specialty license plates to the father of a person who dies while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Under the current provisions of Section 504.408, Transportation Code, the fee for issuance of the plate would be $10. Based on the information and analysis provided by DMV, it is assumed implementation of the bill would not result in a significant impact to the State and any additional costs or duties could be absorbed within the agency’s existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
