IN RE:
HB178 by Jackson, Jim (Relating to requiring governmental entities to participate in the federal electronic verification of work authorization program or E-verify.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code relating to requiring governmental entities to participate in the federal electronic verification of work authorization program or E-verify. Based on the analysis of the Texas Workforce Commission, it is assumed duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Local governmental entities may incur some training costs, and increased staff time to comply with the provisions of the bill, but those costs are not anticipated to be significant.
