No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to modify the distances automobile wrecking and salvage yards can be established from an existing church, school, or residence from 300 to 600 feet. A violation of the requirements would be a Class C offense plus a civil penalty.


Local Government Impact

Costs associated with enforcement and revenue gain from fines imposed and collected would vary depending on the number of offenses, but are not anticipated to have a significant fiscal implication.
