FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 12, 2011

TO:
Honorable John Davis, Chair, House Committee on Economic & Small Business Development

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB276 by Alonzo (Relating to the minimum wage.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require employers to pay each employee not less than the greater of $6.15 an hour or
the federal minimum wage.

Since the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 is greater than required minimum of $6.15, the bill would not have a fiscal impact.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
