IN RE:
HB496 by Dutton (Relating to the frequency with which water or sewer utilities must file a statement of intent to increase rates.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Water Code to increase the amount of time that a water or sewer utility under common control and ownership can file a statement of intent to increase rates from once in 12 months to once in 36 months.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) reported the bill would require minimal rulemaking, but would not result in significant changes to agency operations, policies or procedures.
