IN RE:
HB542 by Dutton (Relating to the consequences of successfully completing a period of deferred adjudication community supervision.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to create a uniform application of the impact of deferred adjudication. This would invalidate statutes and rules authorizing a board or program to deny a license, or to take disciplinary action against a licensee, based on a deferred adjudication. The Department of State Health Services anticipates the number of new licenses issued under the bill would be minimal, and indicates conforming changes to internal procedures would be made using existing staff and resources. The Office of Court Administration indicates the bill would have no significant fiscal impact on the courts.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
