No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to the admissibility of certain confessions in capital cases.  The bill would provide conditions upon which an electronic recording may be admissible relating to statements of the accused in capital cases.  To the extent the bill would modify provisions relating to admissibility of evidence, no effect on judicial workloads or fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
