LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 6, 2011

TO:
Honorable Harold V. Dutton Jr., Chair, House Committee on Urban Affairs

FROM:
John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB564 by Craddick (Relating to maintenance of portable fire extinguishers in government-owned vehicles in certain local governmental jurisdictions.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to require a local government that adopts an ordinance or order to install portable fire extinguishers in government-owned vehicles to annually inspect the fire extinguishers.

Local Government Impact

It is assumed that a local government would only adopt an ordinance or rule if sufficient funds were available for the installation and annual inspections; therefore, no significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
