No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code regarding the authority of a county elections administrator to engage in certain political activity. The bill would establish exceptions to offenses of political contributions or expenditures if the contribution, expenditure, or support is not provided to or in support of or opposition to a candidate or measure appearing on a ballot, an officeholder who holds a statewide office or serves the same county, a political committee, or assisting an officeholder who holds a statewide office or serves the same county.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.

The Rockwall County Elections Administrator reported there would be no fiscal impact associated with the provisions of the bill.
