No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality transmit Notices of Intent to Obtain a Permit for certain waste and water applications to state legislators by electronic mail unless the legislator specifically requests to receive the notice by mail. The TCEQ would also be required to transmit the notice by mail to the mayor, municipal health authority, county judge, county health authority, and river authority in which the facility is located or proposed to be located.
Any additional costs to the TCEQ in implementing the bill's provisions are expected to be minimal and could reasonably be absorbed within the agency's budget.
