FROM:

IN RE:
HB631 by Chisum (Relating to processing certain early voting ballots before election day.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code relating to processing certain early voting ballots before election day.  The bill would allow an early voting ballot board to establish a process for removing data from voting machines used in early voting before the polls open on election day if the county will use the voting machines on election day and the Secretary of State (SOS) approves the process.  It is anticipated that any costs associated with implementation of the legislation could be absorbed within existing resources.  The bill would take effect on September 1, 2011.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
