No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to the secrecy of grand jury proceedings.  To the extent the bill would amend procedures regarding such proceedings, no significant increase to the workload of the courts or significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2011.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The bill would require participants and proceedings of a grand jury to be kept secret for the duration of the grand jury term as defined by the provisions in the bill.
